Hi all i am replacing my single pole light switch and noticed when i removed the old switch that there are three black wires coming from the box. Of the three black wires only one of them is hot. Our lights that we bought has 3 wires with it and the ones currently attached to the walls has only 2 wires.

We are now debaiting if we should try to do it ourselves with guidance from someone who knows how to replace a light that is 3 wire to 2 wire or should we just hire someone to. There will be an additional wire needed often red to connect the switches together to a dedicated screw or input on the switch that is specifically marked for this purpose.
